Patrick Surtain II was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 2021 with the No. 9 overall pick.
Surtain was a highly sought-after cornerback, as he was a highly touted player from Alabama.
Despite playing well throughout his first two seasons, there have been several questions about Surtain’s future with the organization.
He is well-liked within the fanbase, but the Broncos’ on-field woes might scare him away from future contract extensions.
However, Surtain recently appeared on a podcast, “DNVR Broncos Live,” putting to bed any potential rumors of leaving.
“I plan on being here my whole career,” Surtain said, adding, “That’s how I want it to end up.”
When asked if he wants to be with the Broncos long-term, even with the 1-5 start, Pat Surtain II stated “Yeah, definitely.”

This was received well by the team on this podcast, and will undoubtedly be met with a positive response from the rest of the fanbase.
Surtain’s father played in the NFL for 11 seasons as a cornerback as well.
His son seems to be carrying on the family legacy, and if he stays healthy, could be in line for an 11+ year career.
Surtain is committed to the Broncos, at least publically.
If the defense builds around him before they have to sign Surtain to a massive extension, the Broncos will be that much better in the long run.
So far this year, the Broncos’ defense has not been as advertised, making for a difficult season on both sides of the ball.
Fans might have to wait until 2024 to see how Surtain and the rest of the unit can improve, getting back to their dominant nature.
