The Denver Broncos are currently in a position that not many thought was possible after their slow start.
After losing four of their first five games, the Broncos now hold a 7-7 record, which puts them within striking distance of a playoff spot.
While they have clawed their way back, the past three weeks haven’t been the kindest to this team, as they have lost two of their last three matchups.
One explanation is the absence of Kareem Jackson, who was suspended for another illegal hit.
It was recently revealed that he has been reinstated and is free to return to the team.
Pat Surtain was a guest on the DNVR Broncos podcast, where he was asked about the impact Jackson has on this team and what it will mean for him to return to the field.
Surtain responded, “When you bring that juice and that energy that he’s going to bring, that’s going to be huge.”

Ahead of Jackson’s return to the team, Surtain also talked about the current state of the NFL.
To Surtain, Jackson makes similar hits to other players across the league who are not penalized for their actions.
He wants more consistency with calls moving forward, as he feels that Jackson is constantly targeted with flags, suspensions, and penalties.
The NFL continues to place a greater emphasis on player safety, especially for players who are in a vulnerable position.
It will be interesting to see how Jackson performs in his first game back and if he can figure out a way to not get flagged.
