Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a bit of a meltdown this past week after Kadarius Toney’s offsides penalty nullified what would have been a game-winning touchdown against the Buffalo Bills.
The Bills went on to win the game, 20-17, and Mahomes made his feelings known after the game with multiple tirades.
This wasn’t the first time Mahomes’ receivers let him down, either: Toney dropped a critical pass in Week 1 that led to a pick-six for the Detroit Lions, who won the game.
But Mahomes made it clear that he isn’t angry at his pass-catchers and said that he believes in them, according to The Athletic’s Nate Taylor.
“All the receivers know I believe in them,” Mahomes said.

Belief is one thing, but the Chiefs’ wide receivers have let Mahomes down all season.
Kansas City leads in the NFL in dropped passes with 34 this season, and Mahomes’ 7.1 percent dropped pass rate also ranks first.
Unsurprisingly, Toney has the fourth-highest drop rate among pass-catchers and first among wide receivers at 11.8 percent.
Rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice isn’t far behind, either with the second-highest drop rate of 10.7 and the second-most total dropped passes with eight.
The Chiefs also have five players with at least three drops this season – tied for second among all teams.
Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid have been able to mitigate these errors all year and still go 8-5, but the Chiefs haven’t been able to overcome recent mistakes.
Kansas City has lost three of its past four games and have scored no more than 19 points in those losses.
Mahomes and the Chiefs need their receivers to step up in the final month of the season with Kansas City’s lead in the AFC West dwindling by the week.
