The Kansas City Chiefs have won five out of six games this season, including five games in a row.
Nonetheless, they don’t seem to have the same aura as last year, and it feels like their offense has yet to fire on all cylinders.
Steve Spagnuolo has put together a top-five defense for the first time since Patrick Mahomes took the reins of the offense.
But with Eric Bieniemy no longer there, it seems like the offense has kind of regressed, especially when it comes to making the most of their trips to the red zone.
With that in mind, Mahomes talked about how the film shows that they’re not executing the little things at a high level.
“I said that after the game and even watching the film you see it even more,” Mahomes said in a recent press conference, per ProFootballTalk. “It’s just the little stuff that we’re not executing at a high enough level. It’s not everybody, and it’s different people every single play including myself.”

Mahomes is frustrated because he knows what his team is capable of, and he’s not satisfied with their performance thus far.
It’s also fair to state that they don’t boast the same kind of receiving corps they used to.
They don’t have a reliable pass-catcher outside of Travis Kelce, and trading for a familiar face in Mecole Hardman could be just what they need to get over the hump again.
The Chiefs’ once-explosive offense has only topped the 30-point plateau once this season, and it was against a Chicago Bears team that had allowed 25+ points in 15 straight games dating back to last season.
Even so, all that matters is that their record shows five wins and just one loss, and they’re more than capable of righting the ship in the blink of an eye.
