After getting the best of the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs headed into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of being the first team since Tom Brady’s New England Patriots to pull off a repeat in the NFL.
Unfortunately for the Chiefs, the defending champions did not look like the same dominant squad early in the 2023 campaign, as they struggled, especially on the offensive side of the football, which was unusual with Mahomes under center.
However, despite the team’s struggles in the regular season, Kansas City got back to form in the NFL playoffs and went on an incredible run to beat some of the best teams in the AFC and then eventually come out on top against the San Francisco 49ers in overtime in the Super Bowl to win back-to-back titles.
With Mahomes on cloud nine after winning three titles and with a chance to make NFL history next season with a third straight title, he recently appeared on “First Things First” with Nick Wright of FOX Sports to talk about his favorite play of his career so far.
“Yeah, I always say the 4th and 7 versus the [Baltimore] Ravens in my first year starting in 2018. I was scrambling over to the right and threw it back to the middle of the field. I barely saw Tyreek [Hill], and then he comes back to the ball and makes that catch,” Mahomes said.

With Mahomes in his prime with no signs of slowing down, the Chiefs will remain a team to watch moving forward, as they could be on the cusp of making history with another stellar season in 2024.
If Mahomes can stay healthy and make the best of his new weapons on offense, Kansas City has a decent chance of pulling off the three-peat.
