Patrick Mahomes is only 28 years of age, yet he is one of the most accomplished players in the NFL and perhaps any team sport.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has won two Super Bowl championships, two regular-season MVPs and two Super Bowl MVPs, and he has five Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro First-Team nods in six previous seasons to his name.
He is early in his prime, yet he already has identified a goal for his post-playing career: ownership.
Per Dov Kleiman, Mahomes wants to someday own an NFL team.

Mahomes already has ownership of multiple sports teams, and he’s wants to keep at it “Until I own an NFL team.”

The signal-caller is under contract until the 2031 season, when he will turn 36 years of age, and in 2020 he signed a contract extension that will pay him $450 million.
That, even when one adds money from endorsements, may not be enough to purchase an NFL team, especially considering that the cost to do so should be even higher about a decade from now, but he could be able to do so as part of an ownership group.
The Washington Commanders were recently sold to a group headlined by billionaire investor Josh Harris and NBA legend Magic Johnson, and that may be a model for how Mahomes can accomplish his newest dream.
For now, he remains focused on winning his third Vince Lombardi Trophy and turning the Chiefs into a legitimate dynasty.
The team is currently 5-1, which is tied for the NFL’s best record, and although it hasn’t found a consistently reliable wide receiver yet, it cannot be counted out as long as Mahomes is under center.
