The New England Patriots‘ nightmare season continued on Sunday when they lost a very ugly game to the Indianapolis Colts, 10-6.
It was an abysmal performance, as quarterback Mac Jones managed to complete 15 of 20 passes but threw for only 170 yards and failed to throw a touchdown pass.
Afterward, New England decided to waive second-year defensive back Jack Jones, and per Dov Kleiman, it has signed running back JaMycal Hasty.

Jones was a fourth-round draft pick in 2022, and while he had six passes defended and two interceptions last year as a rookie, he hasn’t really panned out.
Hasty is in his fourth season out of Baylor University, and after going undrafted, he spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, and then joined the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He has appeared sparingly in just three games this season, and he hasn’t put up any numbers so far.
Sunday’s game was another frustrating experience for the once-proud Patriots — Mac Jones was benched late in the fourth quarter in favor of Bailey Zappe, who threw an interception of his own with less than a minute left.
While they have two solid running backs on their roster in Rhamondre Stevenson and Ezekiel Elliott, they rank near the bottom of the NFL in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and yards per rush attempt.
New England will have its bye this week, and afterward, it will visit another moribund team in the New York Giants on November 26.
At this point, Bill Belichick’s squad could be a major contender in the Caleb Williams sweepstakes due to its 2-8 record.
