Some of the best NFL people and insiders to follow during the week of the NFL Draft are local reporters around each team.
They have the best sources and connections when learning about what is going on within an organization, as opposed to the national media.
The Patriots are one of the most intriguing teams to follow during draft season because they are picking in the top three and need a quarterback.
According to Patriots reporter Chad Graff of The Athletic, he does not see New England trading out of the third overall pick.
In fact, he sees them selecting North Carolina’s Drake Maye with that pick (via The Purple Persuasion).
Per @ChadGraff, he does not see the #Patriots trading out of pick No. 3 and predicts that they select QB Drake Maye
“Everything Eliot Wolf said last week pointed to the Patriots being content with taking Maye or Daniels with this pick. The guess here is the Patriots will… pic.twitter.com/7TEJUPFOCo

“The guess here is the Patriots will proudly take whoever falls to them and profess he was the team’s top choice all along,” Graff wrote.
With Jayden Daniels slated to go to the Commanders most likely after Chicago selects Caleb Williams, the belief is that Maye could be the third signal-caller to go.
If New England decides to go this route, they will have their quarterback of the future ready to roll with first-year head coach Jerod Mayo.
Maye, the former ACC Player of the Year and All-ACC performer, threw for 62 touchdowns and rushed for 16 touchdowns over his last two seasons with the Tar Heels.
He is one of the most coveted prospects in this draft and if the Patriots were to, for some reason, decide not to take him, perhaps a team like the Raiders or Vikings would trade up to select him.
