The NFL is a ruthless business, and no one seems to be safe.
Notably, that includes legendary coach Bill Belichick, who might not have a chance to go after Don Shula’s record after all.
Belichick and the New England Patriots mutually agreed to part ways after more than two decades on the job.
And just when it seemed like everybody would go after him, the doors started to shut right before his very eyes.
The Atlanta Falcons — the only team that had expressed any sort of interest in hiring him — went with Raheem Morris instead, and there are just two head coach openings left in the league.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Peter Schrager came up with five media ideas for Belichick to continue staying close to the league next season.

Talking on Good Morning Football, he jokingly suggested that Belichick could either have a fishing show with Randy Moss, a Patriots podcast with Bill Burr, a ‘CoachCast’ with Nick Saban and Pete Carroll, a podcast with Bill Parcells, Lawrence Taylor, and Phil Simms about the 80-90s New York Giants, or co-host NFL RedZone with Scott Hanson.
On a serious note, it’s remarkable to see that no one seems to want anything to do with Belichick.
His reluctance to give up control may cost him a chance to secure a spot at the top of the winningest coaches’ list.
