The Minnesota Vikings finally got it done.
They just recently signed three-time All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson to a record-breaking four-year $140 million deal.
It is the largest contract for any non-quarterback in the history of the NFL.
Many NFL insiders and analysts have given their takes on the deal, including Good Morning Football‘s Peter Schrager.
“It’s a matter of taste. It’s a matter of preference. It’s a matter of roster management…Congrats to all the parties involved,” Schrager said via social media.

Schrager’s take is extremely interesting.
He made it a point to chat about how each franchise views and values positions differently.
The Chiefs don’t pay their wide receivers very much and are about to possibly win their third consecutive Super Bowl.
New England didn’t pay their star offensive players very much during their 20-year dynasty run.
Currently, a team like the Packers is paying their wide receivers less than $5 million each.
Each of these franchises in those states were and are focused on paying the quarterback and other significant positions.
In Minnesota’s case, they have a rookie quarterback in J.J. McCarthy, which is why they can afford to pay Jefferson so much.
Veteran quarterback Sam Darnold is also on a one-year deal.
Minnesota is choosing to pay their best player while they still have the opportunity to do so.
The key piece of this equation is McCarthy.
If he turns out to be a stud at the NFL level quickly, Minnesota will be in prime position to contend for years to come.
