The Philadelphia Phillies have played like one of the best teams in baseball during the playoffs.
After making the postseason as the first NL Wild Card team they have taken their game to a new level.
Their most recent success came at the despair of the Atlanta Braves.
The Phillies finished off a 3-1 series win over the Braves on Thursday night.
They are now headed to their second straight NLCS.
One player who continues to dominate for the Phillies is first baseman Bryce Harper.
He hit .462 in the Division Series and played great at first base.
But, the Phillies and their fans did have an injury scare with Harper in Game 4.
Matt Olson seemingly kneed him in the elbow when he was running out a grounder to first base.
Harper looked to be in a ton of pain at the time.
According to Bob Nightengale, Phillies manager Rob Thomson said: “He went downstairs with our training staff, and they came up and said he’s fine.”
Phillies manager Rob Thomson says that Bryce Harper will be fine for the NLCS:
“He went downstairs with our training staff, and they came up and said he’s fine. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow, but I don’t think there’s any concern about structural damage or anything like that.’— Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) October 13, 2023
Losing Harper for any amount of time would be a disaster for the Phillies.
Luckily, that should not be necessary.
The NLCS is set to begin on Monday so Harper has plenty of time to rest.
This series should be a great one between two of the hottest teams in baseball.
Both are Wild Card teams, which does not matter in the postseason.
It will be interesting to see which team can keep the good times rolling.
The Phillies have gone 5-1 this postseason while the D-Backs are 5-0.
This is setting up to be a great series between two unlikely teams.
