The Philadelphia Phillies have not done much so far this offseason.
After falling short of their World Series goals last year, you would think they would look for some outside help.
Instead, they re-signed pitcher Aaron Nola and brought back most of their impact players from the 2023 team.
While the Phillies are not “out” on making some more moves, it appears they will not be signing two impact starters.
According to Matt Gelb via B/R Walk-Off, the Phillies will not pursue Blake Snell or Jordan Montgomery.

The Phillies have spent a lot of money on starting pitchers over the last few years.
They are paying Zack Wheeler, Taijuan Walker, and Nola lucrative contracts.
It would make sense that the Phillies look elsewhere if they are going to spend money.
One spot where the Phillies could use some help is in their bullpen.
After losing Craig Kimbrel in free agency, they do not have a clear closer.
But, there are many quality closers available that could interest the Phillies.
The top name is Josh Hader, but he is looking for a huge payday.
Another spot that could interest the Phillies is finding another outfielder.
With Bryce Harper moving full-time to first base, maybe the Phillies should look for more defensive help.
One player who could fit in is former NL MVP Cody Bellinger.
While he will cost a lot, he can play center field at a high level.
Not to mention he was one of the best hitters in baseball last year.
While the Phillies may be done spending on starting pitchers, they should still be looking to improve their roster.
