For years, the San Francisco 49ers have been one of the teams to beat in the league.
They have the best roster in the NFC, which is a lot to say if you consider the fact that the Philadelphia Eagles are also there.
Unfortunately for them, they haven’t been able to translate that behemoth of a team into postseason success, falling twice in the Super Bowl in the Kyle Shanahan era.
That’s why, now that they’ve given Christian McCaffrey a very lucrative contract extension, former NFL star Plaxico Burress believes it’s Super Bowl or bust for them.
“This is the window for the San Francisco 49ers. It’s Super Bowl or bust.”

Talking on The Carton Show, he claimed that this two-year window was the Niners’ window, adding that they wouldn’t be able to keep this going for much longer.
He believes that McCaffrey’s position, injury-proneness, and usage could lead to him slowing down significantly after the next couple of years.
He also thinks that they must address Brandon Aiyuk’s contract situation, as he’s a big-time receiver.
That’s right on point.
GM John Lynch has been a master at working with the salary cap to stack and keep as many talented players on the roster as he possibly can.
Nonetheless, that might not be sustainable for much longer, especially considering the fact that Brock Purdy is also reportedly in line to get a monster contract extension.
The Niners have everything they need to get the job done, and there’s no more room or time for excuses.
