There are ways to win and get good records in the National Football League.
There are always several teams that run up their stats and numbers against losing teams, and there are other teams that take care of business against other contenders, such as the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Ravens.
It’s not a coincidence, then, to see the two latter teams sitting at the No. 1 spot in each conference, all while the others still need to go through the Wild Card round.
Talking about the Ravens specifically, they’ve been particularly dominant this season.
According to ProFootballReference, John Harbaugh’s team had a whopping ten wins against teams with a winning record.

There’s a big difference between winning games and winning important games, and the Ravens rose to the occasion in almost every chance they had to get the job done.
They even beat the Niners by a wide margin, and then they made sure to lock up the No. 1 seed in the AFC by rolling past the Dolphins.
Of course, none of that will mean a thing unless they’re able to keep that same momentum and energy in the postseason.
But they have to feel great about themselves now that they’ve seen that they’re capable of taking down the best teams in the league, and confidence can take a team a long way in these win-or-go-home scenarios.
