The New York Yankees finished the 2023 season with a disappointing 82-80 record.
They missed the playoffs for the first time since 2016, and the season showed some of the organization’s shortcomings in depth and approach.
Owner Hal Steinbrenner has repeatedly said that there will be changes in how the organization performs its operations and possibly even some personnel changes, too.
Twitter user @Yankeelibrarian posted some of these changes via Twitter, per the AP.
“Hal Steinbrenner says the Yankees will make ‘changes.’ The Associated Press writes: ‘Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner says the team might make personnel changes after three days of meetings last week that followed New York’s worst season in three decades.’ ‘We’re going to make some changes. Some may be more subtle than others,’ Steinbrenner said Wednesday during Sportico’s Invest in Sports conference,” he tweeted.

The tweet contains more quotes from Steinbrenner, who also said the changes could go from personnel to the internal communication in the organization.
Steinbrenner also revealed that there was a recent meeting in Tampa in which about 15 team officials were present.
They discussed player health, clubhouse culture, analytics, scouting, and more.
Evidently, the Yankees want to return to the powerhouse they used to be; and to do that, they need to modify some things, add some, and subtract others.
Finding the perfect recipe, the perfect balance, is a challenge, but their fanbase demands a much better performance in 2024.
GM Brian Cashman and skipper Aaron Boone’s jobs are believed to be safe, but perhaps more than ever before, the decisions they make this offseason will be heavily scrutinized.
The organization is entering a pivotal offseason, as they can’t let teams like the Baltimore Orioles, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Toronto Blue Jays dominate the division.
