After decades of futility, the Detroit Lions are finally hosting a playoff game for their rabid fanbase.
The Lions comfortably won the NFC North and earned the No. 3 seed in the NFC, although their first home playoff game will come against a streaking Los Angeles Rams squad.
Detroit and Los Angeles will have arguably the most exciting matchup of Wild Card weekend because of the quarterback situation.
The Rams swapped out Jared Goff for Matthew Stafford and the two will meet on the field for just the second time since the trade occurred.
L.A. has a lot of momentum on their side and is more than capable of pulling off an upset on the road.
However, Rex Ryan believes that the Lions are going to be the ones to win the game via Erik Schlitt of Pride of Detroit.
“The Rams are all excited, ‘oh we’re gonna come in and take care of this team’, but you know what Detroit is gonna do? Lock the gates. Make sure you don’t leave. Because they’re gonna win this game. And then watch out because this team’s been disrespected and it’s on!” Ryan said.

Detroit may be a young roster with postseason-inexperienced players, but they’ve been a tough and resilient squad all season long.
While it’s true that Stafford and the Rams’ offense has been clicking the past month, the Lions can match them from a talent perspective.
It’s truly anyone’s game, but Detroit’s home stadium should be in a frenzy and that could be enough to give the team an edge in the matchup.
