The San Francisco 49ers survived a major scare.
The Detroit Lions hit the ground running and put them against the ropes with a 17-point lead at halftime.
Brock Purdy didn’t look sharp in the first half of the game, and it seemed like Kyle Shanahan’s team was going home in the NFC Championship Game for the third time in as many years.
That’s when NFL analyst Nick Wright took to Twitter to mock Purdy and Niners fans, calling him an ‘unfairly maligned’ QB and Joe Montana 2.0.
Needless to say, that take didn’t exactly age well.
Former Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman didn’t waste the chance to hit back at him.
“Aged like Milk in the desert,” Sherman said.

Narrator: They were fine and that MVP candidate led them to a 17 point comeback win. https://t.co/Yzl2FUegDY

The former Seattle Seahawk has often defended Purdy and this time; he was right on point.
The former Mr. Irrelevant went 13 for 16 for 174 yards and one touchdown in the second half, adding 49 rushing yards and leading a 17-point comeback.
This was the second time in as many games that Purdy proved to have that clutch gene and stepped up big time when it mattered the most.
Then again, he was also responsible for getting his team in those holes to begin with, and that’s something that needs to be a concern ahead of the big game.
The Kansas City Chiefs have a championship-caliber defense under Steve Spagnuolo, and one of the best head coaches in the game, and they’re not known for blowing big leads.
