With his third Super Bowl ring at just 28 years of age, Patrick Mahomes has already become NFL royalty.
For the first time ever, it seems like someone could legitimately challenge Tom Brady’s GOAT status and even consider winning as many Super Bowls as him.
That’s why there have been plenty of comparisons and talk about Mahomes passing Brady and whatnot.
With that in mind, it was revealed that Brady actually walked into the Chiefs’ locker room after beating them in the 2019 AFC Championship Game to tell Mahomes that he was ‘passing the keys to him.’
That’s actually a very cool gesture by Brady, who realized the end of his career was near and that Mahomes was the next big thing.
However, former Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman didn’t like that at all.
Talking on Undisputed, he seemed to think that Brady didn’t do that in good faith but out of pettiness.
“To walk into an opponent’s locker room after you ended their season to say anything…I don’t think it’s in good faith,” Sherman said.

He thinks it would’ve come out better if Mahomes had beaten him, but it may have been fake if he did it after a win.
Truth be told, Brady didn’t have to do anything or tell him anything, and especially not that.
So, even though they wound up meeting in the playoffs again and with the same outcome, Brady had no way of knowing that he would come across him in the Super Bowl.
At the end of the day, only time will tell whether Mahomes can catch up with Brady, but it will definitely be interesting to watch.
