The Washington Commanders made a lot of noise throughout the weekend.
With Kliff Kingsbury withdrawing himself from the Las Vegas Raiders’ offensive coordinator job, most people speculated that he would end up in the nation’s capital, as actually happened.
It didn’t take long before speculation arose about the Washington Commanders looking to get into the fold for Caleb Williams, who worked with Kingsbury at USC.
Notably, that list of people includes former NFL star Richard Sherman
Talking on “Undisputed,” the former Super Bowl champion predicted that the Commanders hired Kingsbury because they’re confident in their ability to trade up to the No. 1 pick and make a run at the USC star:
“The Commanders aren’t getting Kliff Kingsbury to draft Drake Maye,” Sherman said.

Per Sherman, the Chicago Bears are still not 100% sold on Williams.
They also believe that Justin Fields can lead them to success, which is why they could look to trade down from that pick.
He added that with the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders also reportedly in the mix for Williams, the Bears have all the leverage in any potential transaction, which is why the Commanders need to be aggressive to get him.
The Commanders have the No. 2 pick, so they could definitely be a strong player for Williams.
Sherman believes the Bears are higher on Ohio State star Marvin Harrison Jr., which is why the door could be open for the talented quarterback to take his talents to the Commanders and get reunited with his former QB coach.
