The San Francisco 49ers waltzed into the 2023 NFL Playoffs as the NFC’s No. 1 seed and showed why with some impressive wins against the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.
San Francisco had to come from behind against both Green Bay and Detroit, but found a way to get the job done to punch its ticket to Super Bowl LVIII.
The 49ers get the opportunity to avenge their previous Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and seem much more prepared this time around to handle the challenge.
Brock Purdy’s been a proven upgrade over Jimmy Garoppolo, while the defense has been able to make timely plays nearly every game.
San Francisco has even earned the trust of the betting world as they head into the game as the favorites.
Former star tight end Rob Gronkowski is buying into the 49ers as he picked them to win, via “The Rich Eisen Show.”
“I’m going with the 49ers. I think the score’s gonna be 31-21,” Gronkowski said.

Gronkowski points out that the 49ers have yet to play a complete game, and there’s some truth to that as they haven’t been sharp for all four quarters.
Green Bay and Detroit were able to jump out to early leads as they seemingly surprised San Francisco, but once the game got going the team found its way.
However, the Chiefs are unlike the Packers and Lions as they’re a playoff-tested group that knows how to win in the postseason.
The 49ers may be the favorites, but they’re going to have their hands full trying to outlast the reigning champions.
