Back in 2022, the Kansas City Chiefs made the surprising decision to trade All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins.
Some believed the move would result in the Chiefs taking a bit of a step back, however, all they’ve done since the trade is win each of the last two Super Bowls.
With this being said, Kansas City could still use some help at the wide receiver position, and some expect improving this position group to be one of the team’s top priorities this offseason.
As far as who they could potentially sign, ESPN’s Robert Griffin III recently shared a post on Twitter in which he stated that the Chiefs should add free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. this year.
The @chiefs SHOULD SIGN Odell Beckham Jr. Last year he proved he is STILL DYNAMIC after being 8th in the NFL averaging 16.1 yards per catch. The @Chiefs struggled with drops last year, but @obj had the lowest drop rate of his career with 1 drop on 64 targets (1.6%). Chief him. pic.twitter.com/QpP1xSnnVP

Beckham spent the 2023 season as a member of the Baltimore Ravens, and in 14 appearances, he hauled in 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
Obviously, those aren’t jaw-dropping numbers, but Griffin mentioned the fact that Beckham finished the 2023 campaign with one of the lowest drop rates of his NFL career, and that sort of reliability is something Kansas City could use in their wide receiver room.
Before Beckham signed with the Ravens last year, he sat out the entire 2022 season to recover from a torn ACL that he suffered in Super Bowl LVI as a member of the Los Angeles Rams.
Before he was acquired by the Rams from a midseason trade in 2021, Beckham had stints with the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.
In five years with the Giants, the veteran wide receiver earned three trips to the Pro Bowl, and he won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2014.
