There have been many prevailing news stories throughout the NFL offseason, and the story of the Chicago Bears has been among the most followed.
The Bears hold the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, a pick that many speculated would be used on a quarterback.
This theory was all but confirmed when the Bears traded Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While the team hasn’t officially made the pick yet, this trade ended the Fields era in Chicago, indicating that the team is ready to start over at the quarterback position.
After seeing all of this happen, Robert Griffin III made his thoughts clear in a recent post.
Griffin was heated about this trade, saying, “Steelers pulled off the heist, and I hope Fields proves his doubters wrong.”
You don’t ask for a Day 2 pick in 2024 and settle for a Day 3 pick in 2025 JUST to do right by the player. Howell, Jones and Pickett netted MORE THAN THE 2025 LAYAWAY PICK the Bears got for Justin Fields. Steelers pulled off the heist and I hope Fields proves his doubters wrong. https://t.co/IMwfpPvjkn

Griffin doesn’t seem to be a fan of the current situation with young quarterbacks in the NFL.
He mentions several other players by name, including Sam Howell, Mac Jones, and Kenny Pickett, who have all been moved at some point throughout the offseason.
While he thinks that all of their teams are giving up on them too early, Griffin also noted that it is egregious that all of those players “netted more than the 2025 layaway pick the Bears got for Justin Fields.”
It will be interesting to follow the careers of these quarterbacks, especially those who were drafted in the first round.
The NFL has changed a lot in recent years, as teams seem more and more eager to move on from players if they don’t produce right away.
