Aaron Rodgers’ Achilles injury in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season ruined the optimism and hope that the New York Jets had of competing for a Super Bowl.
Rodgers was the biggest addition the Jets made the previous offseason and he was expected to transform an offense that had the requisite weapons to hang with the best in the AFC.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback tried his best to make a return before the end of the regular season, but ultimately the team’s struggled made it pointless.
However, Rodgers is expected to make a full recovery and be ready at the start of the 2024 NFL season.
Head coach Robert Saleh gave a positive update on Rodgers’ rehab progress via Harrison Glaser of Take Flight Media:
“Aaron, he’s on a mission. He’s doing his rehab. He was ready to go last year, man. We speak to him often. I don’t want to speak for him, but I am going to speak for him & say that he’s really excited about attacking this season. I’m excited to attack this season & try to accomplish the things we were supposed to accomplish a year ago,” Saleh said.

New York opened up Rodgers’ 21-day practice window in the event he would return, but ultimately decided to leave him on injured reserve.
However, it sounds like Rodgers’ rehab is going according to plan which is obviously good news for him and the team.
Saleh could be coaching for his job next season, so having Rodgers back in the fold will be a huge boost for his case.
