The Atlanta Braves’ season ended with a disappointing elimination at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Division Series.
However, what the team achieved in 2023 is nothing short of amazing.
They won 104 games, the most in the league, and had two legitimate MVP candidates in Ronald Acuña Jr. and Matt Olson.
The Braves also tied the 2019 Minnesota Twins for most home runs in a season as a team, and were a juggernaut all year long.
They brought joy to their fans and let them dream, and that’s very good even if the end result wasn’t a World Series trophy.
Acuna, in particular, was amazing.
He was so good that he was voted by his peers as the Player of the Year.
“Top of the charts. @ronaldacunajr24 led the league in hits (217), runs (149), stolen bases (73) and HRs from the leadoff spot (41) and set a @Braves record for most stolen bases in a season. As voted by MLB Players, introducing the 2023 #PlayersChoiceAwards Player of the Year!” the MLB Players Association tweeted.

He was the gold standard this year in MLB and, as a result, the National League.
He became the first 40-70 player, with 41 homers and 73 stolen bases.
No one had even achieved 40-50 before… until Acuña.
He also scored an incredible 149 runs and had 217 hits to complete an incredible offensive season that will, in all likelihood, result in the 2023 NL MVP award.
