The Denver Broncos needed to make a big move and revamp their quarterback situation.
Just when most people thought they were going after Aaron Rodgers to reunite him with Nathaniel Hackett, especially considering his complicated situation with the Green Bay Packers, they shockingly pivoted to Russell Wilson.
Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks drew plenty of backlash for giving up on Wilson, but it seemed like they knew better.
The Seahawks got a massive haul in return for the former Super Bowl champion, with the trade summary going like this (via Adam Schefter):
The Broncos got QB Russell Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round pick (DL Eyioma Uwazurike).
The Seahawks, on the other hand, got QB Drew Lock, DT Shelby Harris, TE Noah Fant, a 2022 first-round pick (OT Charles Cross), a 2022 second-round pick (OLB Boye Mafe), a 2022 fifth-round pick (OLB Tyreke Smith), a 2023 first-round pick (CB Devon Witherspoon), and a 2023 second-round pick (LB Derick Hall).
So, now that the Wilson experiment looks all but failed and he won’t even take the field in the final two games of the season, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on this transaction.
Id straight up take Boye Mafe over Russ and Eyloma

Worst trade ever?

In hindsight, the Seahawks were the undisputed winners of this trade, but it’s hard to blame the Broncos for trying to swing for the fences.
You have to take risks to succeed in the league, and they had been on the verge of contention for a while.
They were just a veteran QB away from being a legitimate contender, they just happened to trade for the wrong one.
