This coming season will be something of a new beginning for Russell Wilson, as he will be playing on a new team.
After two very disappointing years with the Denver Broncos, the future Hall of Fame quarterback was released, allowing him to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that already made the playoffs last season.
One of his former teammates, linebacker Jonas Griffith, had a message for him — Griffith would like to intercept one of his passes, per Andrew Mason.
Jonas Griffith, on @DenSports1043 talking about facing Russell Wilson’s Steelers: “I want to pick off Russ, for sure. I think that would be really cool, just to pick him off — & get the victory, first & foremost.”@I_CU_boy: “If you sack Russ, are you gonna say, ‘Let’s ride’?” pic.twitter.com/NA4I1dAZnS

Griffith will get his chance as soon as Week 2, which is when his Broncos will host Wilson’s Steelers.
Many were calling the Broncos Super Bowl contenders when Wilson landed there two years ago, but the reality is that they simply didn’t have enough next-level players around him to make good on those expectations, especially on offense.
They went 5-12 in 2022 and had one of the worst offenses in NFL history, and despite the hiring of former Super Bowl-winning head coach Sean Payton prior to last season, they only improved by three wins.
It is now the Bo Nix era in Denver, and while he could become a good quarterback, the team is still far away from making the playoffs for the first time since the 2015 season when it won the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Meanwhile, the Steelers are hoping to become dark horse contenders, but they will have to contend with a black-and-blue AFC North division.
