The Dallas Cowboys are ready to have another typical season.
They have a good roster, a good coach, and experienced ownership.
But, that hasn’t meant anything for the last 25+ years, and it won’t again this season.
Everyone assumes the Cowboys will win 10+ games and make the playoffs because they are a good regular-season team.
They’ve won 12 games each of the last three regular seasons under Mike McCarthy.
However, when it comes time to win in big moments, they tend not to show up.
That is why ESPN’s Ryan Clark recently had this to say to “First Take” host and known Cowboys hater Stephen A. Smith:
“This is going to be the worst season you’ve ever had. The worst football season you’ve ever had on First Take…You live for the Dallas Cowboys to be built up so you can bring them down…You ain’t gonna get that built up,” Clark said.

Essentially, Clark is saying that the Cowboys aren’t going to be good enough to be built up this season.
He may be on to something.
They have just four playoff wins since 1997 and this season, who knows if they will get any at all?
Dallas will have nine games against playoff teams from last year on their 2024 schedule.
This doesn’t take into account the fact that they will also face the Atlanta Falcons, the Cincinnati Bengals, and other playoff-hungry teams.
For the likes of Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott to keep their jobs, they will have to overcome a lot in an effort to make an NFC Championship Game at the very least.
