The Philadelphia Eagles made one of the loudest moves in free agency so far, snagging superstar running back Saquon Barkley away from the division-rival New York Giants on a 3-year, $37.75 million deal.
Barkley leaves the Giants after six seasons behind a mostly-porous offensive line and now gets to run behind one of the league’s best lines and alongside one of the best running quarterbacks in Jalen Hurts.
Ryan Clark agrees, as he went on “First Take” today and said that Saquon will make the Eagles “one of the most difficult offenses to stop in the entire league.”

Clark said that due to the skill position players, this offense will be elite and that Barkley adds something completely new to this offense that it didn’t have last year.
Barkley had one of his worst seasons in 2023 behind a historically bad offensive line that gave up the second-most sacks in NFL history with 85.
Barkley put up 962 yards and six touchdowns on the ground in 14 games on just 3.9 yards per carry.
He replaces D’Andre Swift, who ran for a career-high 1,049 yards and five touchdowns last season and recently signed a 3-year, $24 million deal with the Chicago Bears.
Philly was 8th in rushing yards last season and adds one of the league’s most explosive and dynamic backs into the fold in an effort to mitigate last season’s collapse.
Barkley recently turned 27 and will look to get back to posting numbers more in line with what he did in 2022 where he went for 1,312 yards and ten touchdowns while leading the Giants to the playoffs.
