Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf did not have the career that he had hoped for.
After a great college career at Washington State, the former All-American was drafted at No. 2 overall in 1998 by the Chargers.
He would go on to throw 14 touchdowns and 36 interceptions in just 25 career games.
As a starter in the NFL, he had a record of just 4-17.
After three years with the Chargers, he would join the Cowboys in 2021 before being added to the practice squads of the Buccaneers and Seahawks.
He retired at the age of 26 and would go on to get into a lot of trouble with the law.
The former quarterback recently chatted about his feelings on his career on the Ross Tucker Podcast.
“The fact that I wasn’t a successful NFL quarterback is more disappointing to me than it could ever be to anybody else,” Leaf said.

It is a good thing to see that Leaf is not hiding from anything.
He has continued to acknowledge that life did not at all go the way that he wanted both in the NFL and after he was done in the league.
He completely understands that and has responded in a really good way to the negativity around him in recent years.
After he ran into trouble with the law and dealt with some mental health problems after his playing days, he became an NFL and college analyst for multiple networks.
The 48-year-old seems to be in a great place with his life and has been able to crawl out of the dark place he was in after his college days.
