The Minnesota Vikings made the big move to sign perennial All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson to the highest-paid deal for any non-quarterback in NFL history.
The extension goes for $140 million across four years with $110 million guaranteed.
Now, the former national champion and first-round pick is locked in for the future in the Twin Cities.
Former NFL quarterback Ryan Leaf gave his recent take on Jefferson’s deal via SiriusXM NFL Radio.
“This is a mammoth deal…It doesn’t matter who’s throwing him the rock…Coach O’Connell’s gonna find a way to get him the ball,” Leaf said.

Jefferson is the best player on the Vikings, which is exactly why they gave him the bag.
They will make it their mission, like Leaf said, to get him the football.
He has been the most productive player at his position in the history of the NFL.
His 5,899 receiving yards through his first four years are the most-ever for any wide receiver in their first four NFL seasons.
Leaf also said it doesn’t matter who is throwing him the football.
The person that is throwing him the football is rookie signal-caller J.J. McCarthy.
Well, it might actually be veteran Sam Darnold for the first few weeks of the season just until McCarthy gets his legs under him.
But, McCarthy will be the long-term option at quarterback.
It will be up to him to build a strong connection with Jefferson.
If he cannot do that, the Vikings will be in some trouble at quarterback.
But, the bottom line is that they have locked up their best player for years to come.
