Saints quarterback Derek Carr could soon be a lot happier.
After being sacked 31 times last season in his first season with New Orleans, the veteran quarterback has more help on the way.
The team is expected to add a veteran offensive lineman Oli Udoh on a 1-year deal, according to Ari Meirov.

Udoh was selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Vikings.
He played college football at Elon before spending the next five seasons with Minnesota.
Udoh spent most of last season on the injured reserve list after suffering an injury in the Vikings’ second game.
The lineman suffered a torn quadriceps tendon, sidelining the 6′ 6″ tackle for the remainder of the year.
Udoh has had multiple legal issues over the past 18 months.
Udoh was charged with resisting arrest in October 2022, charges that were later dropped.
In May 2023, Udoh was cited for reckless driving by St. Paul police after he was observed doing 97 mph in a 55-mph zone.
Those citations – as well as a third, less severe charge – did not result in jail time for the offensive lineman.
New Orleans’ offensive line was among the best in the NFL in 2023, allowing only 35 sacks in 17 games.
Udoh’s addition gives the Saints an athlete that has started 18 career games with plenty of potential to be a long-term solution.
