The New Orleans Saints have been looking for a worthy successor to Drew Brees as they try to climb back into the postseason.
In order to do that, the Saints decided to bring in Derek Carr on a four-year deal to hopefully lead them to the playoffs.
It hasn’t been completely smooth sailing for New Orleans and Carr during their first season together, but the team can at least say they’re currently the leaders in the NFC South.
Carr has looked more comfortable in the offense in recent weeks, and he was able to lead the Saints to a win over the Chicago Bears in Week 9.
New Orleans has talent on both sides of the field, though the offense isn’t where fans thought it would be more than halfway through the season.
However, Demario Davis remains confident that Carr can fill in the large void left by Brees via the Up & Adams show.
“We had great then and we’re achieving greatness now,” Davis said.

Davis calls Carr and Brees completely different players and leaders, noting that the former is much more vocal than his predecessor.
The linebacker then goes on to say that there’s no point in looking backward and says that they’re on their way to achieving greatness with Carr now under center.
Offensively, New Orleans and Carr still have time to iron out the kinks as the team prepares for the homestretch of the 2023 NFL season.
Davis and the defense will continue to do its thing, but if Carr can uplift the offense then the Saints could be a dangerous playoff team.
