The New Orleans Saints headed into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of turning things around with a new starting quarterback in the fold and a new sense of purpose in a very winnable division in the NFC South.
Unfortunately for New Orleans, Derek Carr and company were unable to live up to expectations, with the team falling short in the division to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite finishing with an identical record of 9-8.
Although last season ended in disappointment with the Saints being on the outside looking in for the NFL playoffs, the team is hopeful it can get back on track for the 2024 campaign, with the team making some key additions to the squad, especially on the defensive side of the football, like Chase Young and rookie corner Kool-Aid McKinstry.
Veteran defensive end Cam Jordan seems to be excited about what the immediate future holds for the Saints as he talked about the upcoming season and took a shot at the division-rival Atlanta Falcons for their quarterback controversy, via NFL Total Access.

With the Falcons making some key upgrades to their squad, with the addition of veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins and rookie Michael Penix Jr. dominating the headlines, the NFC South just got a bit tougher moving forward.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are also expected to be a force to be reckoned with once again, which makes things that much more intriguing heading into the 2024 campaign with a playoff spot on the line between these three division rivals.
