The Seattle Seahawks are clinging onto the final Wild Card spot in the NFC playoff race and will need to win against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17 to stay there.
The Seahawks have been inconsistent throughout the 2023 NFL season, though they’ve had several injuries they’ve needed to work around.
Fortunately, Seattle should mostly be healthy against Pittsburgh which is welcomed news considering their opponents are still fighting for their playoff lives and will be on their A-game.
Defensively, the Seahawks haven’t been quite themselves as they’re one of the softer units to go up against.
Despite some talent in the secondary and upfront, Seattle has been relatively underwhelming.
In an expected move, the Seahawks trimmed down the roster and released veteran linebacker Frank Clark via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“Seahawks are releasing former three-time Pro-Bowl LB Frank Clark today, per me and Brady Henderson. Clark had been a healthy scratch for two of the past three games, and three of the nine games overall since the Seahawks re-signed him,” Schefter tweeted.

This should come as no surprise as Clark has been almost nonexistent in the six games he’s played for Seattle this season.
Clark was originally with the Denver Broncos to begin the season, but was cut and landed back with the Seahawks who drafted him back in 2015.
However, the veteran might be done for good as he doesn’t have the same pass rush ability or burst that he once did.
It’s unfortunate to see Clark go out this way, but the team has to do what’s best for itself and now both sides get to move on.
