The Seattle Seahawks are known for having one of the loudest — if not the loudest — stadium and fan bases in all of sports.
They take pride in that, and that No. 12 player has played a big role in their success.
Their faithful and loyal fan base will stay by their side regardless of who’s behind center or calling the shots.
That’s why they wanted to make a stand when Russell Wilson came back home.
In a recent appearance on Chris Long’s Green Light podcast, Seahawks’ defender Boye Mafe talked about the loudest game he had ever been in, which also happened to be his first-ever NFL game.

He talked about how all the fans and the players were sick and tired of the narrative of the Seahawks being in a rebuild as if they weren’t a team to take seriously.
Mafe claimed that he was surprised by the environment, as it was his first game in the league, adding that the team was definitely fueled by the people and how they wanted to make a statement in Wilson’s first game back to the place he used to call home.
Notably, the Seahawks won that game 17-16, and they went on to have a better season than the Denver Broncos.
Eventually, time proved that Pete Carroll was right when he decided to move on from his Super Bowl-winning quarterback and give Geno Smith a chance, and the Seahawks, who were expected to be a rebuilding team, turned out to be quite ahead of schedule.
