After beginning the 2023 season with a miserable 1-5 record, the Denver Broncos have been able to pull off one of the most impressive turnarounds in recent NFL history during the last few weeks.
The Broncos have won six of their last seven games, and they currently find themselves right in the middle of the hunt for a wild-card spot in the AFC playoff bracket with four weeks left in the 2023 regular season.
On Thursday, Denver head coach Sean Payton shared what allowed his team to maintain their focus this year despite the struggles they experienced during their first few games (via Zac Stevens on Twitter).
“At 1-5, the No. 1 thing with the team is you have to have vision, hope and belief.”

He credited the team for having that.

The Broncos are coming off an impressive 24-7 win over the Los Angeles Chargers last weekend, and on Saturday, they will attempt to start a new winning streak when they head out on the road to take on a 9-4 Detroit Lions team.
Defeating the Lions in their home stadium won’t be easy, but given how well they’ve performed during the last few weeks, Denver getting a victory on Saturday isn’t something that should be doubted.
Following their upcoming contest against Detroit, the Broncos will finish their 2023 regular season with matchups against the Chargers, New England Patriots, and Las Vegas Raiders.
Considering how poorly the Chargers, Patriots, and Raiders have all performed this year, the Lions are easily the toughest opponent on Denver’s remaining schedule.
If the Broncos can get a win in Detroit on Saturday, then they should be in good shape to grab a spot in this season’s playoffs.
