Just a couple of weeks ago, it seemed like the Denver Broncos were ready to offload most of their players — or at least, they should’ve been.
But they’re now on the heels of back-to-back wins, and all of a sudden, making the playoffs is no longer impossible.
Needless to say, that changes everything ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, and HC Sean Payton wanted to make it loud and clear that they have no intention whatsoever of trading anyone away (via Zac Stevens).

Of course, we’ve heard that multiple times, and then teams end up moving some of their players anyways, but it makes sense this time.
They’ve already moved on from veterans like Randy Gregory and Frank Clark, and they haven’t missed them thus far.
The WR duo of Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton drew plenty of interest in trade talks dating back to the offseason, but it doesn’t seem like they’re going to be moved now.
Likewise, superstar CB Patrick Surtain II was also tangled up in some trade rumors, but the Broncos simply cannot afford to lose a player of his caliber if they intend to make a postseason run.
If anything, the Broncos could now look to be buyers, although they don’t have a lot of draft capital to deal with.
Whatever the case, it seems like Payton and the Broncos are ready to live and die with this current roster, and while they still face an uphill path to reach the postseason, they have to feel better about themselves now.
