Even though Sean Payton was already there last season, this will officially be the start of a new era for the Denver Broncos.
Russell Wilson is no longer in town, and coach Payton will have a guy he chose to be his next quarterback, not a guy that was imposed on him.
The team went through some major changes in the offseason, mostly to appease the financial ripple effect of cutting ties with Wilson.
Even so, coach Payton has looked quite happy and excited about the future, and it seems like he’s fully embraced Broncos Country and everything they stand for.
That’s why he took to minicamp donning some beautiful orange and blue Jordans, and we’ve got to admit he’s totally pulling them off (via Zac Stevens).

The Broncos might have a tough time keeping up with the rest of the AFC West Division, especially with the Las Vegas Raiders improving so much on defense, Jim Harbaugh getting the reins of the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Kansas City Chiefs getting more weapons for Patrick Mahomes.
Still, Payton does come with a Super Bowl pedigree and a long history of steady success, so he deserves the benefit of the doubt at the very least.
Now, whether Bo Nix is the right guy to lead this franchise back to relevance and become their first franchise quarterback since Peyton Manning remains to be seen.
But if they’re going to trust and double down on someone, it might as well be on one of the best coaches in business.
