The Cleveland Browns have managed to overcome every single thing that has been thrown at them this season.
Injuries, an odd situation with Deshaun Watson, a revolving door at the quarterback position, and the referees not giving Myles Garrett calls throughout the course of the season.
Despite all that, the Browns are 11-5 and 8-1 at home and have already secured a postseason berth with a chance of getting the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
However, even though one would assume that those numbers and the context would be more than enough for Kevin Stefanski to run away with Coach of the Year honors, NFL legends Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson and Shannon Sharpe believe there’s one person who could take the distinction away from him.
Talking on their Nightcap Show, they made a case for DeMeco Ryans winning Coach of the Year if the Houston Texans make the playoffs.
“For me, if Houston makes the playoffs with a rookie head coach and rookie quarterback, you gotta give it to DeMeco,” Sharpe said.

They talked about how having a rookie coach and a rookie quarterback make the playoffs should be enough for him to run away with it.
That’s a valid argument, and the Texans look far ahead of schedule and like a team that’s going to be a problem for years to come.
Even so, it’s hard to ignore the team that has already secured a spot in the postseason and that has had four different quarterbacks win at least one game.
The Cleveland Browns are the biggest storyline of the NFL season by a mile and it’s about time Stefanski gets his flowers.
