There are not many athletes you can say are once-in-a-lifetime players.
But, there is one playing in MLB right now.
Shohei Ohtani has done things in the first six years of his career that no one has ever seen.
He is an elite two-way star and has taken over the baseball landscape.
Ohtani recently signed the largest contract in baseball history with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The contract is for 10 years and is worth $700 million.
We may not see a player have a similar contract to that for many years.
Ohtani is a fan favorite as people are in awe of his ability.
He is even someone whose stats you have to see to believe.
According to Talkin’ Baseball, Ohtani had the most viewed player page on Baseball Reference this past season.

When you see a player dominating on the mound and at the plate, it is hard not to check his stats.
Ohtani has won two of the last three AL MVPs.
He is still 29 years old and has shown no signs of slowing down.
Ohtani received elbow surgery at the end of last season, which will put a damper on his 2024 value.
He cannot pitch next season as he recovers, but he will be a key cog in their elite lineup.
Ohtani is still one of the best hitters in the sport.
We should get to see Ohtani in the playoffs for the first time and that is a treat all baseball fans have been waiting for.
