The Dallas Cowboys finally exorcised some demons as they were able to beat a team with a winning record.
The Cowboys managed to outlast the Detroit Lions at home in Week 17, a much-needed win considering they were coming off a tough loss to the Miami Dolphins last week.
The game was filled with plenty of twists and turns, though Cowboys fans were on the edge of their seats in the final minute as the Lions marched down the field with a chance to win the game.
Detroit head coach Dan Campbell has never been afraid to go for the win, so it wasn’t surprising to see him go for a two-point conversion on their final drive to potentially steal a victory.
Jared Goff found one of his offensive linemen for the conversion, but officials later ruled he was an ineligible receiver and the call was reversed.
While Dallas took home the win, Skip Bayless voiced his displeasure with some of Mike McCarthy’s decisions via his personal Twitter account.
“McCarthy calling the late passes opened the door for what nearly happened. Just dumb,” Bayless tweeted.

Instead of running the football, McCarthy called some pass plays that stopped the clock and allowed Detroit to hold onto their timeouts.
It was a baffling decision that had fans scratching their heads, and it nearly cost the Cowboys.
While it worked out in the end, McCarthy has to be better in those situations as it could come back to bite him and the team in the playoffs.
For now, though, Dallas will enjoy the win before their final game in Week 18.
