Heading into the 2023 season, the jury was still out on whether the success of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy in 2022 was a fluke or not.
Well, so far this year, Purdy has done more than enough to prove that his performance last season was just what should be expected from him whenever he lines up under center for the 49ers.
Purdy is now 10-0 in the regular season as a starter for San Francisco after their 42-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, and understandably so, the young quarterback is already being compared to some of the best passers the NFL has ever seen.
On Monday, FS1’s Skip Bayless went straight to the top with who he believes Purdy reminds him of.
“[Purdy] is early Tom Brady. He’s on that arc. He is because he doesn’t do anything wrong.”

One of the best ways to keep a job in the NFL as a starting quarterback is to make as few mistakes as possible each week out on the field, which is something that Purdy has been able to do during his time as a starter for San Francisco.
This is also something Tom Brady was able to do during his legendary NFL career, and it resulted in him being able to help lead his teams to multiple Super Bowl victories.
While Purdy has been impressive since becoming a starter for the 49ers, it still just seems a little too early to be comparing him to arguably the greatest quarterback in the history of the league.
Purdy only has 10 regular-season starts in his career so far, so it’s probably best to let him win at least one Super Bowl ring first before comparing him to Brady.
