The Pittsburgh Steelers weren’t good enough to be a playoff team, at least talent-wise.
That has been an ongoing issue for years now.
Still, somehow, someway, Mike Tomlin led them to the playoffs and made sure not to have a losing season for the 17th consecutive year.
That’s why most people thought it was unfair to think that the team should move on from him, and why so many fans were worried about him potentially walking away from the game.
A report by Adam Schefter of ESPN pointed out that Tomlin could take a year off, and the way he stormed out of his press conference didn’t do much to appease the noise.
But now that he’s reportedly expected to be back, Skip Bayless said he actually hopes he gets the opportunity to retire with the Steelers.
Talking on “Undisputed,” Bayless claimed that there aren’t many coaches out there who could do what Tomlin can do.

He stated that perhaps his only flaw is the fact that he doesn’t fight for a bigger input in the sense that he’s not picking the players every year; he just coaches who they get.
Nonetheless, he also thinks that Schefter is the most credible source in the business, meaning that there had to be some truth to his report.
Bayless believes that report could’ve been a blessing in disguise for the Steelers, as it has now lit Tomlin’s competitive fire.
Whatever the case, the Steelers have big issues to fix, and the head coaching position just isn’t one of them.
