The Dallas Cowboys haven’t been very active during free agency as their only major signing was Eric Kendricks.
Dallas flamed out during the 2023 NFL playoffs and owner Jerry Jones was adamant that he would explore every avenue toward improving the roster.
So far, though, the Cowboys have largely remained quiet despite several needs on both sides of the field.
Offensively, Dallas has several needs they need to address including their offensive line.
The Cowboys saw longtime left tackle Tyron Smith leave in free agency for a one-year deal with the New York Jets.
Losing Smith hurts and Skip Bayless didn’t mince words, via his personal Twitter account.
“I really hoped Jerry would find a way to keep Tyron Smith, one of our own, and make sure he retires a Cowboy. Nope. Another loss, more disappointment. At this rate, Jerry will watch his team miss the playoffs next year,” Bayless tweeted.

Bayless is a high-profile Cowboys fan who has been critical of the team since their postseason exit and the team didn’t do themselves any favors by letting Smith walk.
Although his injury history is a concern, Smith is still one of the NFL’s best left tackles and was a large reason why the offense was able to find itself in 2023.
Smith played 14 games last season, the most since 2019, and showed he can be productive in pass protection when he’s healthy.
Fortunately for Dallas, the 2024 NFL Draft is loaded with offensive tackle prospects and they should be able to find Smith’s successor next month.
