The San Francisco 49ers just did right by their best offensive player.
Christian McCaffrey got a very lucrative contract extension that will add two more years to his current deal with the organization.
That was well deserved after posting an MVP-caliber season last season, running away — both literally and figuratively — with Offensive Player of the Year honors.
McCaffrey’s ability to make an impact as both a runner and a wide receiver is unmatched around the league, and he’s the most important player on one of the best offenses in the game.
With that in mind, Skip Bayless shared his thoughts on this new deal.
Talking on “Undisputed,” he raved about McCaffrey, his numbers, his production, and even the hard work he puts out every single time he carries the rock.

Nonetheless, he did show some level of concern because of his age.
He was quite injury-prone earlier in his career, and we’ve all seen how quickly featured backs can fall from grace once they lose their first step.
Fortunately, McCaffrey has been able to stay healthy since he took his talents to the Bay Area, and he’s earned every single penny of that new deal — and perhaps even more.
The Niners are still the best team in the NFC and should be the odds-on favorites to come out of the conference next season, and plenty of that will have to do with the Stanford product.
Hopefully, he’ll be able to pay them back on the field and avoid his injuries of old.
