The New York Jets were the most talked-about team in the NFL, dating back to the offseason.
That’s the kind of effect Aaron Rodgers has on a team, as even when he’s not playing, the sole prospect of him stepping onto the field is more than enough to make a team media-worthy.
Unfortunately, the Jets’ status as Super Bowl contenders only lasted for about one drive, as Rodgers tore his Achilles four snaps into the season.
And now that they have no shot at making the playoffs, all those dreams about making an in-season comeback from such a major injury is a thing of the past.
That’s why Skip Bayless recently went as far as to call Rodgers the greatest “media manipulator” of all time.
Talking on “Undisputed,” Bayless stated that Rodgers never seriously considered coming back and playing this season, yet he still managed to have the media and the fans talking about him throughout the course of the entire season.

Bayless has never been a fan of Rodgers as a player or as a person, so his words might be taken with a grain of salt.
Then again, he thinks that Rodgers had absolutely no chance to play at all and it was all a charade.
Now, it seems like we’ll never know, but it would’ve been a major breakthrough for sports medicine and a potential game-changer for athletes out there if he did return.
