The Baltimore Ravens were the best team in the National Football League on Sunday.
They had left some to be desired in the first six weeks of the season, showing glimpses of great potential but also shooting themselves in the foot way too many times.
That’s why Skip Bayless believes they made a huge statement with their win over the Detroit Lions.
In the latest edition of “Undisputed,” Bayless stated that the Lions had an underrated defense, which is why what Lamar Jackson and the offense did was so impressive.
“Yesterday was a statement game for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. It was a masterpiece.”

He praised them for not having any dropped passes or big blunders as per usual, and was in awe of the offensive masterpiece the Ravens put on.
Notably, there was a lot of hype about the Ravens’ new-look offense under Todd Monken.
With Greg Roman no longer in town, they were expected to be more of a pass-heavy offense, and their new set of wideouts would help them spread the field.
The Ravens had alternated good and bad performances, with TE Mark Andrews and WR Zay Flowers as the only consistent contributors.
But with their defense, their running game, and Lamar Jackson proving that he’s still a perennial MVP candidate, there’s no reason to think this Ravens team can’t go toe-to-toe with the Super Bowl contenders of the league.
Now, it’ll be all about proving that they can do this on a consistent basis, as they have the talent, the pieces, and the superstar quarterback to put the league on notice.
