The Dallas Cowboys control their own destiny, and while that could usually be a good thing, history is not on their side.
America’s Team has a long-withstanding history of not getting the job done when it matters the most, which is why not even being favored by almost two touchdowns has made the fans feel confident about their team entering Sunday’s game.
Notably, that includes sports pundit Skip Bayless, a confessed diehard Cowboys fan.
Talking on Undisputed, Bayless expressed his concerns over the divisional rivalry game vs. the Washington Commanders, stating that no team hates the Cowboys more than Washington and that they would love to play spoilers for them.
“This is why I’m more afraid of this game, than even the 2 home playoff games that we would potentially play. Mike McCarthy has had a history coaching the Dallas Cowboys of his teams coming out completely and utterly flat for huge games,” Bayless said.

Bayless wants someone to step up and let the players know that anything but a win against the Commanders would be unacceptable.
On paper, the Dallas Cowboys should find little to no trouble getting past Ron Rivera’s team.
Then again, the Commanders did beat them in last year’s season finale during Sam Howell’s first start of his career.
The Cowboys could secure the No. 2 spot and two home playoff games with a win, but they could fall all the way to the No. 5 seed with a loss.
They need to approach this game like a postseason contest already and enter the actual playoffs with some positive momentum.
