The Dallas Cowboys have been mostly quiet this offseason, even though they have had trouble getting over the hump the last three seasons.
Despite winning 12 regular-season games each time, they have advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs just once in that time span, and they haven’t reached the NFC Championship Game since the 1995 season.
Meanwhile, the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles, who went to the Super Bowl in the 2022 campaign, have been aggressive this offseason by adding star running back Saquon Barkley, among others.
Skip Bayless, who is a well-known diehard Cowboys fan, took to Twitter to criticize the Cowboys for not spending money on improvements this offseason while acknowledging the Eagles have opened up their vault in order to become elite again.
“Eagles have spent the most money in the NFL this offseason. Cowboys have spent the least. Eagles have all their key players locked up contractually. We don’t. Eagles have added so many good players. We’ve added Eric Kendricks, for 3 mil. Philly=contender. We=miss playoffs,” he tweeted.

Dallas is in a precarious position, as they need enough cap space to give quarterback Dak Prescott a contract extension so that he’ll remain with them beyond the 2024 season.
Their one move of consequence may have been to sign linebacker Eric Kendricks, but he may not make too much of an impact as far as moving the needle in the playoffs.
The elephant in the room when it comes to the Cowboys’ playoff disappointments has been the subpar play of Prescott, and until he plays up to his potential in big games, they will not be going anywhere in the postseason.
Their hopes of winning their first Super Bowl championship could not only hinge on Prescott’s play but also what they decide to do with him moving forward.
