Nico Paz, the dynamic midfield maestro from Como, has reportedly given his approval for a potential transfer to Italian giants Inter Milan this summer. However, securing the highly sought-after Argentine’s signature won’t be as simple as it seems, as two significant hurdles stand in the way.
The Rome-based daily, Corriere dello Sport, reports that convincing both Como and Paz’s former club, Real Madrid, could pose significant challenges. Paz’s dazzling performances since his departure from Real Madrid to Como last summer have made him an invaluable asset for his current team.
The 20-year-old has been a key figure in Como’s efforts to cement their position in Serie A’s mid-table. Inter Milan’s management believes that Paz could be the golden ticket for their future success. The player’s phenomenal performances in Serie A have left the Nerazzurri in no doubt about his potential.
Simone Inzaghi, the head coach of Inter Milan, sees Paz as a cornerstone around which he can build the future of his team. He plans to utilize the young Argentine’s creativity in the attacking midfield position.
Oaktree Capital, the owners of Inter, are equally excited about the prospect of signing Paz. They believe he embodies their ambition to revitalize the Nerazzurri with a fresh wave of talented young players.
Inter’s management has been making concerted efforts to persuade Paz to consider the move. Over the past weekend, Inter’s Vice-President, Javier Zanetti, was observed having a conversation with Paz’s father, sparking further speculation about the possible transfer.
However, securing Paz’s services won’t be a walk in the park for Inter. For starters, Como is reluctant to part ways with their star player after just one season. Negotiations with the club over the summer could prove challenging.
Secondly, Real Madrid, Paz’s previous club, holds a buyback option for the player. The clause allows Los Blancos to re-sign the player for €9 million this summer, with the amount increasing to €10 million and €11 million in the subsequent summers. Even though Como is willing to offer Real Madrid up to €25 million to cancel the clause, it adds another layer of complexity to the situation.
Despite these obstacles, the Nerazzurri are determined to forge ahead with their plans to bring Paz to their side this summer. Bolstered by the player’s approval, they are confident that they can navigate through the challenges and make the transfer a reality.
